Additional information about social login
This notice applies to members who choose Naver or Google login at GK Library.
Information processed: the account identifier for each provider, email address, a nickname chosen by the member, and records of agreement to the terms. The account identifier is processed to link a social account with a site member. Names and profile pictures also returned by the provider are not automatically used as nicknames or stored as member information.
Purposes: sign-up and login; verification of identity and explicit linking to an existing account; prevention of duplicate registrations and improper linking; and account recovery. Where email ownership needs to be verified, a verification code is sent at the member's request.
Protection of existing members: the site does not automatically merge existing accounts or log anyone in simply because email addresses match. Existing members can link a social account in Account settings after logging in to their own account.
Retention and deletion: social account linking identifiers are retained while the link is maintained and deleted when the link is removed or membership is withdrawn. Site member information such as email and nickname remains when only the social link is removed; when membership is withdrawn, it is handled according to the existing Privacy Policy. Authentication tokens are used only during login verification and are not retained long term. Sign-up verification codes and incomplete authentication information become unusable after their short validity period expires.
Management: members can check or remove links in Account settings. An account created using only social login must establish another login method before removing its last social link. Security cookies are used during authentication to prevent forged requests and verify the current browser. Each provider's privacy policy also applies to Naver and Google authentication tools.
PayApp processing when choosing a Korean-language PDF
Effective date: 2026-10-29
Scope and information entered
This notice applies only when you choose to buy a Korean-language PDF. The buyer enters a Korean mobile telephone number needed for the payment request. It is not an additional requirement for registration or membership-level free PDF benefits. If you do not wish to enter and transmit the number, you may decline that paid purchase and continue reading public articles and using existing member benefits.
Payment service and information transmitted
The payment service is PayApp, operated by UDID Co., Ltd. For payment requests, verification, cancellation and refunds, the site transmits the number entered by the buyer, an order reference that does not expose the internal member number, product name, amount, currency and seller identifiers to PayApp. The payment request does not include the member's email, nickname, sign-in password, article body or PDF file. Card numbers, card security codes and card or wallet authentication passwords are processed directly by PayApp or the payment institution; the site does not collect or store them.
Site purchase records and telephone-number handling
For purchase verification, delivery, repeat downloads, cancellation, refunds and disputes, the site processes member ID, article, language and purchased edition, order and payment-request identifiers and status, amount and currency, consent version and time, delivery records and refund enquiries. The telephone number itself is used only to transmit the payment request. It is not stored in the site's member profile, purchase ledger or logs and is not returned in public responses or purchase screens. The retention, deletion and rights procedures described below for PDF purchase records also apply to these purchase records. PayApp's handling, retention, deletion and rights procedures follow its policy and applicable law: https://www.payapp.kr/homepage/udidTerms/payapp_privacy.html .
Foreign-language PDFs
The existing US$1 PayPal purchase process for foreign-language PDFs remains unchanged and does not use this Korean-payment telephone-number input process.
Foreign-language PDF purchases and PayPal payments
Effective date: 2026-10-29
This notice additionally applies to paid PDF purchases, payments and downloads. The existing registration and social login notices continue to apply.
Purposes and information processed
To confirm purchases, verify payments, deliver files and repeat downloads, process cancellations and refunds, prevent payment fraud and handle disputes, the site processes the member ID; purchased article, language, product name and purchased-edition identifiers; amount and currency; local order ID and PayPal order, payment and refund identifiers and status; accepted terms version and consent time; and delivery records including the first successful delivery. If you submit a refund enquiry, the selected reason, text you enter, request and review times, and processing decision are also processed. The purchased edition's content and PDF file are retained to fulfil that purchase. The site does not additionally require a real name, date of birth or postal delivery address to provide a PDF.
Information processing with PayPal
Order information sent by the site to PayPal consists of an order reference that does not expose the site's internal member number, product name, selected language, quantity, amount, currency and seller identification. The payment request does not include the member's email, nickname or password, or the article body or PDF file. Payment authentication information, including card numbers, security codes and PayPal passwords, is collected and processed directly by PayPal or the payment institution and is not stored by the site. Buyer names, email addresses and shipping addresses returned in PayPal responses are not stored in the site's PDF purchase records either.
PayPal tools and international processing
Using PayPal tools connects the user's browser with PayPal for payment and security checks. PayPal may directly process IP addresses, device information, cookies and payment information. The counterparty for South Korean PayPal merchant services is PayPal Pte. Ltd. in Singapore; the applicable PayPal entity, affiliates and payment institutions' terms and privacy policies depend on the buyer account's country and payment method. Information about PayPal's international processing, retention periods and rights is available in its published policy: https://www.paypal.com/kr/legalhub/paypal/privacy-full . You can decline PayPal processing by not using the payment tool or proceeding with payment. You will then be unable to buy a paid PDF, but can still read public articles.
Retention and deletion
Contract, withdrawal, payment and supply records are retained for 5 years under applicable electronic commerce law; consumer complaint and dispute records are retained for 3 years. The minimum purchase linkage and purchased edition needed to provide valid repeat-download access are retained while that entitlement is provided. Even after account closure or a deletion request, transaction records subject to legal retention requirements are kept only for the prescribed purposes and periods and managed separately from ordinary membership use. When the retention purpose and period end, information is deleted or made irrecoverable. Payment authentication tokens are used for verification during a short validity period and are not retained as long-term member information.
Access, correction, deletion and enquiries
You can check order status and available files on your purchase screen. For access to, correction or deletion of transaction information, or refund enquiries, contact sgjjojo@gmail.com or use the site's contact feature. Do not send card numbers, passwords or PayPal authentication codes. If deletion is restricted by legal retention requirements or a need to verify the transaction, the reason will be explained.
